Costco Expansion

Costco announced on June 4th 2013 at the Retail Council of Canada's Store 2013 conference that they will be opening 25 new locations across Canada with a goal to get to 110 stores.  - Financial Post

POTENTIAL New Costco Sites

Where will these locations be?

They have not been announced, but, we have prepared a preliminary analysis based on the population totals that are not within 10km of the current Costco portfolio. Some of these locations (Guelph) are already under construction. Others are candidates for potential locations.

Above is a preliminary review of the potential new markets for Costco. Sites were selected based on areas beyond the 10km trade area of current Costco sites. Areas with a high population potential within 20km were highlighted as potential new sites. This analysis, prepared by Interstratics, does not include additional relevant factors such as income levels.

Ideally the best place to put a Costco is in Bathurst NB. So many people travel to Moncton just to shop there. Bring it to Bathurst and you would have all of Northern NB shopping there. You will not be disappointed. Bathurst Bathurst Bathurst.

We are a beautiful community of dedicated and friendly people , lots of place for expansions, but what we really are missing is a location where we can get our good, there is so few of them. It’s ridiculous to travel 3 houses to go get goods. also we are the focal point of the north, so this means that we would have people coming to you store from our neighbouring city to name a few like: Campbell ton, Dalhousie, Lorne, Jacket river, Miramichi, Caraquet, Tracadie, Sheila, Lameque and more. Also the city of Bathurst with its own surrounding which is quit expended. Thank you for coming to Bathurst NB

Bathurst NB would be a great place for Costco, as it would get people travelling from Quebec, Carleton sur mer, the Acadian Peninsulas; Newcastle, to come to the area in order to shop. Competition between stores is good for everyone, keeps them on their toes.

It isn't only P.E.I .who would be big buyers
there, but people from THE MAGDELINE Island
would also be big supporters. They come here all year

Bringing a Costco to Bathurst NB Canada would be a smart move , it would boost our economy as well as benefit Costco! People from Point A La Croix Quebec and surrounding areas, Campbellton and surrounding areas, the Acadian Penninsula , Bathurst and surrounding areas and Mirimachi would shop here at Costco! Please bring a Costco here to Bathurst NB, we so nedd it and it would save me a ton in gas money that I spend in the 2 1/2 hr drive to Moncton that I do every month to shop at their Costco. This way the money I save in gas I can spend at my Costco here in Bathurst NB and I can go more than once a month!

Would love to see a Costco in Bathurst NB. I' ve had a card for over 12 years but I have to shop in Moncton, St John, Hfx .Bathurst has a large carchment area including North west and North east NB and the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec. We even have the Titan hocky team that attracts a large number of fans ffom miles around.

We need a Costco in Lloydminster. This city is located on the border of Alberta/Saskatchewan and is steadily growing. We would be approximately two hours fron the nearest Costco. It would make alot of us very happy to hear Costco is opening a store in this city.

I love Costco. We shop there often but it is quite a drive to NB from PEI. A lot of my friends also shop at Costco. It would so great to have one in PEI. It would be great for families & business to be able to buy in bulk. Sure hope PEI will be one of the locations they pick for a new store.

We gave up out Costco membership because of the added expense of the bridge to get to Moncton. I am not alone. A number of my friends feel that adding almost $50.00 to every trip means that any trip to Costco becomes too expensive. Hoping to see a store built on PEI.
